Reamer, diameter 10 mm
A reamer for the aluminium bushing of the speedometer cable drive.
If the speed gear is broken, in all cases known to me so far, this is due to the shaft jamming. This is due to corrosion of the aluminium bushing from the outside (at the point where the bushing protrudes from the gearbox). As a result, the dimensional accuracy is also reduced on the inside of the bushing at this point, the shaft jams and ultimately leads to a defective speedo gear.
The reamer has a round holder and can be clamped in a cordless screwdriver.
ATTENTION: High-quality reamers cost €100 and upwards. This is not necessary for the aluminium bushing, so here is the option of an inexpensive (and therefore not very high-quality) reamer that will allow the shaft to turn smoothly again.
